Barry grew up in Miami Florida playing football and baseball in the youth programs until the age of 13 when he discovered his true love tennis. Within two years he was ranked in the top 5 in the state of Florida and top 50 in the nation. At 18 he won the Florida State High School Championships at the number one singles position earning him many college scholarships. Attending the University of Illinois, Barry was ranked number one as a freshman getting to the finals of the Big Ten Championships. He then played professionally on the satellite tour in Europe and the United States. After a brief professional tennis career he returned to Florida to become the Director of Tennis at Casa Ybel on Sanibel Island. Continuing to play tennis tournaments he was ranked number one in Florida in the Men’s 25 and Men’s 30 division and number two in the men’s open division. At the age of 47 and after many years away from playing competitive tennis, Barry found his new love Pickleball. In 2017, Barry turned pro and has won numerous pickleball tournaments including 4 Florida Senior games in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. In March 2018, Barry won a silver medal at the US OPEN Pickleball Championships in Naples, Florida and in June teamed up with Scott Moore to win the Atlanta Open Championships. Barry has won 4 money tournaments in 2018 including the Gold Medal at the prestigious Texas Open. He is an IPTPA Certified Teaching Professional and gives lessons in addition to being a full time Realtor with John R Wood Properties.

Suncoast Pickleball Association pickleball camps

Tony and his wife Jill met playing mixed doubles on a tennis league team the same year that Tony was headed to nationals with his men’s USTA team.  Wasn’t too long afterwards that they were invited by a close friend to play some pickleball.  Tony thought this would be nothing more than a morning spending time with some friends one the courts.  Little did Jill or he know the lasting impact that morning would have on their lives.
Since 2016, Tony has switched full-time from tennis to pickleball and played in more than 35 tournaments, including medaling in several regional events.  While Tony had always shared his knowledge and love for the game with others, in 2018 he took a more formal approach.  He became a certified IPTPA instructor and, together with his wife, founded In2Pickle – a resource for all things Pickleball.
Through their In2Pickle YouTube channel and online written resources, Tony shares pickleball tips and strategies.  Tony is constantly looking for new ways to impart information that can help players improve their game.  The underlying philosophy of In2Pickle is that any player who puts in the work can improve his/her game, becoming a benchmark 4.0 player (if not higher).

Lindsey Newman grew up on Whidbey Island, Washington with six siblings that include four sisters and two brothers.  She started her Pickleball career in the late summer of 2017 at Pickleball Station in Kent, Washington after hearing about the game from another Selkirk player, Mark Cook. Lindsey and her brother, Riley, entered into their first tournament less than a week after picking up a Pickleball paddle and won the mixed doubles open bracket! Immediately after that tournament, Lindsey and Riley became professional players and their careers have immensely risen. If Lindsey is not on the Pickleball court, she’s probably on the basketball court as a college basketball referee. Lindsey plays both singles and doubles in Pickleball, but prefers playing doubles with her favorite partner, Riley. Lindsey is also working with her younger sister, Hayley, in hopes that they can one day be doubles partners. Lindsey currently resides in Queen Creek, Arizona and is sponsored by Selkirk.

Riley Newman was born and raised on Whidbey Island, Washington from very supportive parents, Mike and Pam Newman. Riley grew up in the middle of 6 siblings (5 sisters and 1 brother). He grew up and loved playing baseball, soccer, basketball, and tennis. He especially loved basketball and tennis and like his older sister, Lindsey; played tennis at a Division I school in Seattle. Riley was introduced to pickleball in the summer of 2017 by basketball referee and Selkirk player, Mark Cook. Because Riley and Lindsey both played very high-level tennis, picking up a pickleball paddle and learning the strategy wasn’t too difficult. The Newman’s entered into their first 5.0 tournament and won the mixed doubles bracket! Riley has been hooked on pickleball ever since and absolutely loves all of the wonderful people he has meet because of it. Riley lives in Phoenix, Arizona and referee’s college basketball. Riley plays with the Amped Epic paddle and loves the extended handle which allows him to hit his two handed backhand, also the power from the baseline with the touch from the kitchen line. His favorite Pickleball memory came in his first US Open tournament (2018) where Lindsey and him progressed so far in the tourney that they played on center court in the mix open quarterfinals. “The fans were so engaged and felt the awesome energy throughout the whole match.”Type your paragraph here.
