Loved the blocks of time with each Pro and that we rotated. I thought the player to pro ratio was perfect!     Dana Franks

Bob has been playing pickleball for over 20 years and has been teaching for over 15 years.  There was very little pickleball instruction available in the late 1990s, but it was a natural transition with a tennis background.  Along the way, he competed in tournaments and has been fortunate to win over 220 medals.  Teaching pickleball has become a passion of his because he loves to work with all levels of players.  He is a certified instructor with International Pickleball teaching Profession Association (IPTPA).  Teaching new players is fascinating because many have not had a sports background…..loves seeing intermediate players improve their skill level…..and especially enjoys teaching advanced players how to kick it up a notch.
During the winter at Happy Trails RV Resort in Surprise, AZ, he and his teaching staff instruct over 100 students each week…..all levels of play.  He and his wife Beverly enjoy RV traveling, and many stops along the way they will do informal clinics/classes. International teaching includes Jamaica, Cancun, Spain and Costa Rica.   Meeting pickleball players is always inspiration because everyone loves the game, is passionate about learning, and most important, has fun!

After retiring, Paul and his family moved to Flat Rock in western North Carolina. The regional area has a vibrant, growing pickleball community. Paul plays at the WNC Pickleball Club, a private club in south Asheville. He has taught at major clinics as well as giving private lessons and is an IPTPA-certified instructor.

Laura Fenton Kovanda is a 3-time U.S. Open Gold Medalist and 2-time Pro Finalist.  She has also won numerous Silver and Bronze medals at both the USAPA National Championships and the Tournament of Champions.
What many don’t know about Laura is that she is also a National Champion in four other sports (basketball, softball, tennis & racquetball) and was a member of the U.S. National Racquetball Team for 15 years in her 30s and 40s.  She holds 5 World titles, 33 National titles, 2 World Pro-Mixed titles, 2 Pan American Games titles, qualified for 3 Olympics and was ranked in the Top 4 on the Women’s Professional Racquetball Tour for 11 years.
But what makes Laura a great Pickleball Instructor?  Her background as a college professor over the past 30 years in kinesiology, exercise science, sports psychology, neuroscience and athletic training, combined with her own athletic background, gained her recognition in teaching and training high school, college, professional and Olympic athletes in over eight different sports.  She has also been a motivational speaker and sports broadcaster, and now we are very fortunate in that she brings a very different “geometrical and kinesiological view” to the game of Pickleball.
If you would like to see other reviews, future clinics and/or learn more about Laura and her company, World Team Pickleball, check out

Peter is a 5.0 player and has been a part of the Pickleball community for over 5 years, competing and teaching.   He is a certified instructor through IPTPA. His passion is teaching the game of pickleball to all levels of players.

Peter is the 2015 USAPA Tournament of Champions Men's Open Doubles Bronze Medalist.
2018 30+ US Open Silver medalist in both men’s and mixed doubles.
2016 Canadian Nationals Men's Open Bronze Medalist, and the 2016 Bend, Oregon Men's Open Doubles Silver Medalist.

I currently live in Tucson, Az but I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. I am 30 years old and converted to pickleball after playing tennis since I was 6 years old, starting actual lessons and competitive play when I was 8. I come from a high level tennis background where I played Division I tennis and competed internationally as a world ranked junior tennis player. I injured myself in late 2009, which in turn ended my professional tennis aspects. I was introduced to pickleball in November of 2015 in Lansing, Michigan by Dan O’Toole and DJ Howard. Dan O’Toole was actually my first tournament partner in a small local tournament and that’s what really hooked me. And it didn’t hurt that my first day on court I was playing with Simone Jardim and Corrine Carr Siebenschein. The willingness for other tournament players to just help out in anyway they could was amazing. It was a completely different vibe than my usual tennis tournaments and I loved it. I am ITPTA and USPTA certified and currently the Director of Pickleball at Tucson Country Club in Tucson, Arizona.  I also travel around the US, Mexico and Canada doing clinics, running tournaments and promoting Pickleball.    Some of my Pickleball accolades are:
2016 US. Open Men’s 5.0 - Gold Medalist
2016 US. Open 19+ Mixed Doubles - Bronze Medalist
2016 Michigan State Games Singles 5.0 - Gold Medalist
2016 Michigan State Games Men’s 5.0 - Gold Medalist
2017 US. Open 30+ Men’s - Gold Medalist
2017 US. Open 30+ Mixed - Silver medalist
2017 US. Open Men’s Doubles Pro - Bronze Medalist
2017 State Games of America men’s singles 5.0 – Gold Medalist
2017 State Games of America Mixed Doubles 5.0 – Bronze Medalist
2017 Northwest Regional PPF Men’s Pro - Gold Medalist
